🎉 A bittersweet celebration honoring the incredible careers and well-deserved retirements of Joe Beers and Walt Leaumont! 💻 Mr. Beers has been the heart of our computer science program from the very beginning. He has been with Jessamine County Schools for 27 years—19 of those at JCTC. He’s been a go-to tech expert, a creative force, and a mentor to so many. He’s also played a huge role in Kentucky’s Digital Design and Game Development pathway, leaving a statewide mark that won’t be forgotten. 🇺🇸 Lieutenant Colonel Walter Leaumont has spent 9 incredible years of service at JCTC. Walt didn’t just teach Military Leadership—he built the program from the ground up. He’s impacted hundreds of students, many of whom have gone on to serve our country with honor. While we’re going to miss them both big time, we’re excited for them to enjoy some well-earned downtime! Congratulations to Joe and Walt! #RetirementCelebration #bittersweet #jessaminecareerandtech #WeAreJCS #JessamineCountySchools #careerandtechnicaleducation #teacher #teachercelebration

How does a great teacher spark curiosity and ignite a passion for learning? By creating immersive, hands-on experiences that students never forget. At EJHS, Mrs. Propes transformed the classroom into a mini-museum, sharing a collection of World War II artifacts. This powerful, up-close encounter with history brought the past to life in a way textbooks never could. JCS is proud to celebrate educators like Mrs. Propes who go above and beyond to make learning meaningful and memorable. #TeacherAppreciationWeek #ThankATeacher

Our final Superintendent Student Forum meetings of the year were a blast! Students provided valuable feedback to JCS Food Service leaders—sharing their favorite (and not-so-favorite) cafeteria items, tips on how we can improve, and even taste-testing potential new menu options. A big shout out to JCS Food Service for their continued efforts to make our menus both nutritious and delicious! 🍽️ We've learned so much from each other-thank you to these incredible student leaders for their insights and input on so many important topics throughout the year!

Today, please join us in showing some extra appreciation for our dedicated staff who keep our schools moving forward! 🚍 Long before our hallways fill with footsteps, our drivers and monitors are already on the road. They greet with a smile, offer a listening ear, remember routines, and help start and end each day on a positive note. Through early mornings, rainy afternoons, and everything in between, they make sure each student gets to school and back home safe and sound. We're so grateful for our amazing Transportation Team - they're at the foundation of everything that we do. 💛
